Domenico “Mick” Cacciola (born 1945 in Sicily) is a decorated police officer who joined the Queensland Police in 1966, becoming an undercover detective in the 1970s. After retiring in 2001, Mick wrote his memoirs which were published in 2009 as “The Second Father”.
In the book Mick detailed how he resisted underworld crime and corruption, then rampant within the Queensland Police, and later exposed by the Fitzgerald Inquiry.
Mick’s second book, “Who’s Who in the Zoo”, is an insider’s story of crime and corruption in the police force, when he was a CIB and Special Branch detective.
