Feros PNG Medical Students arrive in Cairns

Our two Feros grant final year medical students from PNG arrived in Cairns at last  on Saturday 7th November after the perennial last minute nail biting visa struggle. They started their clinical placement at Cairns Regional Hospital on Monday 9th Nov and will return to Port Moresby on Sat 5th Dec. Their names are Natalie Kapari and John Martin.
They are thrilled to be in Cairns and have been warmly welcomed by Peter Donellan of the Cairns Rotary Club and Dr. John Ombiga, a PNG origin  gastroenterologist  resident in Cairns. John Ombiga does a splendid job in mentoring and supporting the students while they are here. Earlier this year, our Club recognised his inestimable support with a Paul Harris award.
